Customer Reviews

"My family found this small family restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner on our way to Kansas City. We enjoyed sharing 4 burgers, 6 chicken nuggets, lots of curly fries, 5 mozzarella sticks, and 3 milk shakes (pineapple, peanut butter, and butterscotch). Everything was delicious, and it was only ~$45 plus tip after they gave me a military discount. We had a great experience at the Hornet's Nest. The food was great, the servings were ample, and the staff was very friendly. Our server took the time to come over and talk with us. She didn't just talk with my wife and I; she also engaged my teenagers who are often hesitant to talk to strangers. The staff seem like people we could enjoy hanging out with."

"Have passed this place so many times on the way through - wanted to stop here forever but they are closed Sat/Sun. SO glad we finally did! The staff is incredibly friendly - food was delicious. We both had KStater burgers - one with fries the other with cheese curds - don't miss out on the curds -YUM! Heard so much about ice cream we each got a small shake - not sorry! Great experience and can't wait to go back! Only regret was we should've stopped much sooner!!"

"Ordered the Special , a large double cheeseburger with seasoned Suzy-q's. The patties were not warm enough to melt the cheese! For as long as it takes from ordering to table, I expected the burger to be hot and fresh. These were fried much earlier in the day. Very disappointing."

"Stopped here on our way to our campsite in I had 2 tacos and that was plenty for me. Husband had Cheeseburger and FF and like it I want to stop on our way home and try their own spin on a blizzard and think milkshake. Prices were very reasonable, 2 tacos, LG Cheeseburger and FF , small dish of ice cream $15 including tip."

"My favorite place in your city, sometimes you just want to go to work for it. Was here with my son a couple of months ago, very tasty wings and shrimps. For my son, how oddly the best was the soup with scallops. The prices are pleasant, as are the staff, clean, beautiful, I highly recommend visiting, especially for those who are passing through"
